Training
At ICI we want to ensure that our drivers are well trained in all aspects of their job. Once a contract has been offered, every new driver is required to attend training at our office. Drivers are trained on company policies and procedures as well as the following:
- Maintenance and Vehicle Inspection Program
- Security Policy and Procedures (C-TPAT, PIP)
- Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and defect reporting
- Hours of Service (ON and US)
- Cargo Securement
- Collision Reporting
- Customs Procedures
We also provide on-going training in the form of driver meetings and monthly consults with the Safety department. We make ourselves available and encourage our drivers to call any time they require assistance.
Border Wait Times
With HOS rules getting stricter at every turn, drivers need to have the tools available to plan their travel accordingly and make the most of the hours they have available. Professional drivers know that a well planned trip can result in fewer delays and less stress. At ICI we understand the challenges drivers face and we try to help minimize the stress such delays can cause. Checking border wait times is a quick and easy way to avoid sitting in line idling unnecessarily.

Partnering with a specialized trucking software such as TMW’s TruckMate software has boosted our performance in areas from Customer Service to Dispatch, Auto-Rating to Billing, EDI, Driver Recruitment, and Repair and Maintenance.
By utilizing one of the industries leading transportation software, we are able to efficiently manage your shipments. TMW TruckMate software is used in the daily functions of all departments, increasing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Customers can request an access code which allows user-friendly access to our system to view and print documents such as Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery and Invoices. No more waiting for someone! Automatic e-mailing of your invoice when billed saves you time and money.
Drivers also appreciate the technology which enables dispatch to send important information such as pick-up and delivery appointments, addresses and shipping instructions directly to them.
With Safety being a main priority at ICI, we are able to utilize the system to keep driver qualification documents, maintenance and equipment profiles current. We also use the system to automatically communicate with dispatch to ensure all information is kept current.
TMW TruckMate’s e-manifest software allows quick and efficient transmissions of manifest details via EDI directly to customs. It is this same system that notifies the drivers when an entry has been submitted by a customs broker and accepted by customs. The drivers electronically receive the required information they need to cross the border.
